Greetings from the Pilke Playschool Taikavuori manager

Hi! I am Janaina Bittencourt, manager at Pilke Playschool Taikavuori. From January 2022 I will also start managing Pilke Playschool Pasila. I have a bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences from Finland, with specialization in Early Childhood Education and Care. I started my career as an Early Childhood
Educator in 2011 and have been in partnership with Pilke since 2014. It has been a rewarding path, from each child’s laugh, developmental growth, desire to learn, and most importantly, watching them thrive as they blossomed by being socially and emotionally secure.

I believe Early Childhood Educators have one of the most important jobs in the world! They are the ones who guide and empower the children to have a fulfilling set of skills for life. Educators open the doors for a child to explore their emotions, social skills, curiosity through play. Hence, preparing them to become confident, empathetic, curious and critical thinkers in the future.

As one of my core values you will find “Play is serious business for the children”, meaning they will learn, have fun and develop through play. Another one of my core values is that every child is “unique and special”. Everybody learns in a different way, so providing the right environment for all learners is very important.

In our new Pilke Playschool Pasila, just as in Pilke Taikavuori, children will learn English and develop in an diverse atmosphere, where they will learn that difference/uniqueness is a value and a strength. From where I come from, diversity is a strength, so I feel at home when I am in an international environment.
