Science-oriented daycare centre Pilke Hohto is located in Kivistö, Vantaa

Pilke’s science-oriented daycare centre Hohto opened on Spinellinkuja Street in the plot of the former Kivistö school in August 2018. Hohto provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care for children aged 0–6 years.

Siru is a science-focused kindergarten whose emphasis is on studying and wondering about phenomena that have arisen from children’s thoughts and interests. Depending on the age of the children, it can be the study of the different forms of water, the study of the solar system, the wonder of the rainbow or the construction of three-dimensional objects. Science education for children under three years of age is based on the use of the senses, perception, wondering, questioning, stories and fairy tales.

Hohtos’ play facilities have been designed in a way that motivates and encourages exploration and experimentation. The daycare centre is equipped with a scientific play space where the young professors can conduct their studies with pipettes, loupes, test tubes and magnifying glasses among other fascinating instruments.
