The joy of exercise is always present at the warm-spirited daycare centre Pilke Pispala in Tampere

The sports-oriented daycare unit Pispala is a Tampere-based outsourced daycare centre which was transferred to Pilke Daycare Centre’s ownership from the Ahjola Settlement on 1 August 2018. The daycare centre is located by the Haulitorni Tower at Ahjolankatu 3. Pispala provides high-quality child-centred early childhood education and care for children aged 0–5 years at a warm-spirited daycare centre with 51 daycare places.

Pilke Pispala is a sports-oriented daycare centre, whose objective is to help children find the joy of exercise and adopt a sporty lifestyle. The sports-orientation is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through trips, daily yard games, weekly musical movement activities and instructed exercise. We also provide the children with opportunities to try various sports, such as swimming, junior wrestling and cycling.

Our operation naturally involves plenty of time for versatile activities, such as singing, drama, handicraft and painting, not to forget sufficient daily rest. Everyday pedagogy is part of every moment of our operation. It is present in pausing to wonder things together; counting peas in the salad bowl or experimenting with colours when painting. We value each unhurried moment we get to spend conversating, playing or just being silly while exploring the world together.
