Pilke will open a new English-speaking daycare centre on Lippulaiva, Espoonlahti in August 2022.

Pilke Playschool Espoonlahti is a welcoming daycare centre where children can both practice and maintain their English skills. Our English-speaking pedagogical activities adhere to the Finnish National Core Curriculum for Early Childhood Education and Care.

Centrally located

The daycare centre’s central location provides various opportunities for exploring the close surroundings. Our activities include frequent trips to, for example, parks, libraries, museums and other cultural sites. There is a large outdoor courtyard in front of the kindergarten entrance.

There are also Finnish-language groups in the kindergarten, where English is gradually introduced. In language-rich early childhood education, children get to practice familiar songs, rhymes and concepts by singing and meditating together in English, but Finnish is also used in everyday life.

We grow children to open-minded global citizens

The kindergarten has a multicultural and international atmosphere that encourages children to learn new things from other cultures as well. We familiarise the children with various cultures and help them grow into open-minded global citizens. We have over 20 years of experience in early childhood education in English and a staff that genuinely cares about the child.

The joy of exercise

In addition to English, kindergarten emphasizes physical education in early childhood education. The sports-orientation is implemented in the daycare centre’s everyday operation through trips, daily yard games, weekly musical movement activities and instructed exercise.

We support the children’s daily independent exercise by building a learning environment that encourages and inspires them to do sports. This is realised by, for example, making sports equipment easily accessible to the children.

Children also participate in a wide variety of outdoor activities such as trips to the nearby forest, sports field and parks.
